As did the one from someone who was enraged that people would question the need for lavish vestments when a bride spends more on a wedding gown used once than a prelate on a cappa magna he uses for years.</p><p>But the bride doesn't stand before us and tell us she is standing in the place of Christ. A priest does.</p><p>And I have a tad bit of difficulty picturing Jesus in a cappa magna or its equivalent for his historical period.</p>William D. I think not.
